Privacy policy

Last updated November 5, 2026

This site belongs to one person, not a company, and collects as little as it can. This page says plainly what is collected, why, where it goes and how to have it removed.

Who is responsible

Valerii Vvedenskyi, an independent software engineer based in Toronto, Canada, runs this site and decides how data on it is handled.

I handle data in line with Canada's PIPEDA and, for visitors from the European Union and the United Kingdom, the GDPR.

What is collected

Only what you type into the contact form: your name, email address, what you are writing about (a service, or a company and topic), an optional budget range and timeline, and your message.

Nothing is collected while you read the site, apart from the aggregated analytics described below.

Why, and on what basis

I use what you send to answer you and to follow up on your inquiry, nothing else.

The basis is your consent, given with the checkbox under the form, and my legitimate interest in answering people who write to me. I never sell or share your details, and no decision about you is made automatically.

Where it goes

The form is delivered by Resend, an email service, to my mailbox; Resend keeps delivery logs for a limited period, 30 days on its standard plans. If delivery is ever unavailable, the form instead opens your own email application with your message prepared, and nothing passes through the site.

The site is hosted on Vercel, in a data centre in the United States, so a form submission travels through Vercel's servers before it reaches me.

To limit spam, the server keeps your IP address in memory for ten minutes to count submissions; it is not written to any log. A hidden field and a timing check catch bots and hold no personal data.

When you send the form, Vercel BotID checks invisibly that the request comes from a real browser and not from a bot. It looks at technical signals from your browser, not at what you type, and a request it flags is not delivered.

Cookies and your browser

The site sets one cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, which remembers the language you chose. It is not used for tracking.

Your theme choice (light or dark) is stored in your browser's local storage and never leaves it.

There are no advertising, social or third-party tracking cookies.

Analytics

Page views are counted with Vercel Web Analytics, which works without cookies. According to Vercel's privacy documentation, each page view may record the time, the page and the page it was reached from, your country, region and city, your device type, operating system and browser, and a short-lived identifier derived from your IP address and browser signature that changes every day, so visitors can be told apart without being identified.

What I see is aggregated: which pages were viewed, where visitors came from, from which countries, and on which devices, systems and browsers. I cannot tell who you are from these figures, and they are never combined with anything you send through the form.

How long it is kept

I keep an inquiry in my mailbox for as long as we are in contact about it, and delete it when you ask.

Analytics figures are kept in aggregated form only.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time what I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent; email is enough.

If you believe your request was not handled properly, you can complain to the privacy authority in your country, for Canada the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

Children

The site and its services are addressed to businesses and adults. I do not knowingly collect data from children; if you believe a child has written to me, tell me and I will delete it.

Changes to this page

When something changes in how the site handles data, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.
